Annabella

Back in August, do you remember that month? Yeah it was a while back. I am that far behind. Well, back in August our little family, along with my parents packed up the cars and drove south to Annabella.

Some of you may not know where Annabella is. Well, I am here to tell you it is a wonderful little town about 2 1/2 hours south of Salt Lake. My grandma and grandpa Brown were both born and raised there. They also lived there for a number of different times in their lives and retired there a long while back. My grandpa has passed away (about 11 years ago) and my grandma has remarried and moved to Heber City, but their home remains theirs and has been offered to us to use if we would ever like to.

We decided that we would like to! So that is where we spent our family vacation this year. My mom and I took the kids down a few days early while the men finished things up at work. While we were awaiting their arrival my mom and I made curtains for my bedroom, something I have been in need of for longer than I care to admit. They turned out great, but I will post about them later. We visited family, played in the yard, and ate yummy food. It was great. Steve and dad did finally come and we were very happy to see them. We had a lot of fun.

One day we drove to Fish Lake, ate lunch in the lodge, and went fishing with the kids. They LOVED it! We even got lucky and caught a few fish. It was kind of a rainy, cloudy day and I was in heaven.

The downside to this little outing is that someone left their tangled line on the shore with hooks in it and poor Baze got caught in it and we had to hurry to a vet to get the hooks out. Luckily it wasn't too big of a deal, but I felt so bad for the boy. You could tell it was hurting him. But he was a champ. And recovered quickly. Like in minutes.

My dad's brother, Robin, lives in Richfield which is about 5 or ten minutes from Annabella. He took us, my dad, grandpa Henrie, Steve and I, fishing one night at this lake that felt like it was in another state, but was only up the mountain apparently. But man was the drive worth it. This little lake was gorgeous! I can't even tell you just how beautiful it was. I took so many pictures I don't know what I am going to do with them all. I will share some of them with you ;).

My dad was the only one to catch a fish at this outing. Poor Robin, was dead set on catching one and he is the only one who didn't even get a bite. Good thing he lives so close and can go anytime he wants to!

Sadly the poor fish was out of the water too long, or maybe my dad was too rough with him, either way he didn't make it. I have to tell you that I have never seen a fish fight for his life the way this guy did. I was fascinated by him. He would completely go belly up and then flip over and go swimming really hard, then slowly roll over on his belly again. Finally after like ten minutes or more he stopped turning back over. Poor guy. I took like thirty pictures of him. Here is one.

But what a good time we had together.

Steve took these pictures. I love uploading the pictures from my camera when I know he has had it for awhile. I love to see the world through his eyes. The lake at sunset

We spent a lot of time just hanging out at grandma's house. We visited and watched movies. We rode the giant 4 wheeler, not sure what they're really called, played at the park. Just had a really great time together.

Can't wait to see what lies ahead next year!

I just realized that with all of these pictures I didn't get any with my mom! How does that always happen? Sorry mom.
