Crew's 2 year old pics

Ok, I realize that Crew turned 2 almost 2 months ago. I totally slow at getting these posted, but that is mainly because I am just barely getting them edited! Holy cow. I know. With little Cache joining our family and other clients biting at the bits for their pictures, my own family's pictures have been placed in a folder on my desk top and forgotten. I am sorry about this. They don't deserve it. They probably deserve the most love of all, but that isn't the case. I'm sorry photo's of my family. I do love you. I will try to be better, I promise.

Isn't he cute?

I'm his mother, I realize, so I will probably think he is cute 99% of the time, but I really think he is! So stinkin' cute!

Let me give you a little background on our whole "Crew turns 2 and needs to have his photographer mother take his pictures" experience.

Crew's mom had a baby a mere 10 days before his 2nd birthday. His mom didn't realize that this new little baby would be coming so soon so her original birthday plans were squashed and she had to come up with a plan B. Crew got to celebrate his birthday with some neighbors who were gracious enough to come over and sing to him with his family so he would understand that this was a special day. After the singing and cake eating, he went swimming with his dad and sister. LOVED IT. That kinda made up for the whole new baby right before my birthday thing. Then Crew's mom threw him an actual party with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. It rocked and all was forgiven. Crew even thought he had escaped getting his pictures taken... but he was wrong.

After rescheduling the pictures too many times, his mom stuck to his guns to take them on a Saturday at the begining of March. After rearanging a number of different activities we woke up that Saturday to find it extremely overcast with clouds that looked ready to BURST! I was determined to take these pictures so we went forward with our preparations. The kids were bathed and his nicest clothes put on. We rushed to Wheeler Farm and just as we stepped out of the car the rain began to fall. Just our luck. I wanted to get back in the car and go home, but Steve convinced me that we should at least give it a try.

It wasn't at all what I had dreamed it would be. I didn't use a fraction of the props that I had brought for him, but the shoot went on and I did get some good shots. He was pretty cold and by the end of our experience the clouds were really letting it loose. It was sleeting on us and that isn't what I consider fun. I think the bad experience is part of why it took me so long to edit these pictures. I didn't want to remember! But I have had a chance to get over it and now it is a great story to tell.

I love when that happens.

Here's Crew...

These ones by the banister are the first ones we took and he is still thinking this picture thing is alright. That's where I got the most smiles.

Then we stuck him up on the hay bails and he wasn't too sure about that.

So we let him wander around a bit in this hat that his grandma D brought him from Germany.

Doesn't he look like a little German boy?

We tried putting him on this saddle they had out and he thought it was pretty cool at first...

But that didn't last long. So our last shot was trying the snow goggles. Crew won't take these things off when we're in Bear Lake, but when mom wants him to wear them...

He can't get them off fast enough. And this was the last shot of the day. Fitting I thought.

And what would a shoot be without a couple of shots of Reagan?

Classic.

Just another day at the Farm.
