A good friend of mine is getting married! Yeah Kensie! I am so excited for her!
I have known kensie for AGES. And I mean that in the literal sense. I have known her since the day she was born.
I don't actually remember the day, seeing as I was only about 7 months old at the time. But I know it was a special moment when she entered my life. Throughout the years Kensie has been to most of my birthday parties, pretty much every special occasion, we've spent many conference weekends in Timber Lakes together, along with countless Superbowl Sundays, and a lot of other Sunday's that had no real importance other than that we were together.
Our families go way back. My dad and Kensie's parents are from the same town. Richfield. Love that place. (I just don't ever want to live there). My dad and Kensies dad were friends all growing up. I'm not sure exactly where Kensie's mom came into the picture but I know they all went to the same elementary, middle, and high school together. So... WAY BACK! I consider them family. I hope they're ok with that.
Ok, back to the story. Kensie is getting married! Isn't that the most fun??? So, my mom and I threw her a shower. And this was no small feet. Kensie decided to have all of her showers together. That would save her from being embarraced a lot of different times. She was so nervous to have a shower because she didn't want everyone doting on her. "Why should everyone go out of their way to come to a party for me?" she asked. "I'm sure they have more important things to do". She couldn't have been more wrong.
We sent out 60 invitations. That isn't 60 people, that is 60 households that were invited. Luckily my mother has a beautiful home that can occomodate that kind of a crowd. We got busy planning and scheming all of the things we wanted to do for Kensie and we had a blast!
(**I'm sorry the pictures aren't great, but all I had was my phone. They'll have to do!**)

The food was delicious, thanks to all of those who offered to help us out! The salads and spreads were to die for! My contribution to the food were cake balls. Have you ever heard of these tasty morsels? I wish I had pictures because they turned out awesome and they were DELICIOUS! They are exactly what they are named... Cake squished into balls and dipped in chocolate! Mmmmm. They make me happy just thinking about them.
Oh, and we mustn't forget that I also contributed the favors which were lovely decorated cupcakes. Kensie's sister-in-law (my pretend sister-in-law) came over the day before and we had a party decorating the cupcakes! So much fun!

But most of our time and energy went into the decorations. I had so many ideas I was so excited to have a reason to use them! We didn't have a ton of time so some of my ideas go the kabush. But the one's that didn't turned out great! We made homemade tissue paper pom-pom balls to hang throughout the room...

These were incredibly easy to make and they looked fabulous! I wish I had discovered this project years ago!

The second craft I attempted were crete paper rose balls. These were incredibly tedious, but completely worth the effort! They turned out so great! I am thinking I might hang them in Reagan's room! I love them that much! This is the item that I got the most compliments on and questions on how to do them. So fun! If you have the time, I say DO IT!

These hung over the spread of the delicious salads, fruit, chicken salad sandwhiches, cake balls, eclaire's and other yummies.

Overall it was so much fun! I would be lieing if I said I wasn't exhausted when it was over, but totally worth the effort! Such great friends and such a fun time together!
Congratulations Kensie! Let's be planning a baby shower this time next year! What do you say???
