After Hours

"After Hours" - noun; evening. time spent after the children are in bed. relaxing moments. the latter part of the day. quiet.

I love After Hours at our house. Everything shuts down. The toys are gone off of my floor, the lights are off in the upper part of my house, and all that is left is my, my hubby, and my new little baby who deserves a little extra love and care after a roudy day.

Steve is wonderful to help me get to this point in the day. When he gets home from work he plays with Crew and Reagan. They wrestle and run. The kids are in heaven for those few hours every day. They love their dad. Bedtime comes all too soon for them. But it does come. I often come downstairs after the chaos of the day and find this on my couch...

And I can't help wondering what Steve likes most... they wrestling or the snuggling. I don't think I can choose. I love watching the older kids play with Steve. I wish I had his energy. They adore him and it is clear he is having just as much fun as they are. But I also love seeing him have quiet time with our little one. I just want to snuggle up there with them.

These are the moments that I look forward to After Hours. One of the best times of day.
