CIRCUS!

Last weekend my dad got us tickets to the circus! I haven't been in years and Steve has never been at all! It was great and my kids were in heaven! You can see by the pictures below that Reagan couldn't even pause to smile for me because she didn't want to miss anything and when she did look at me she scowled. I had forgotten how much fun the circus is, or maybe it is just a lot more fun with kids. Either way we had a great time!

Reagan's Musical Debut

At my Grandma and Garold's wedding, Reagan made her first musical debut! It was a surprise to us all, and a total riot. My mom sang for the newlyweds, hence the mic and sound equipment, and when Reagan saw Grammy up there singing in the mic, she wanted in so as soon as Grammy was done Reagan strutted up there and picked up the mic. She dazzled us with her vocals and it was a pleasure for all to hear! I am happy to introduce the one and only REAGAN...

Grandma & Garold

Last Saturday my Grandma got married! This was a bit of a shot gun wedding and I've got to hand it to them for pulling it all off in such short time! It was wonderful! My Grandma is so happy! Thank you, Garold for coming into Grams life! We are so happy for you two! Isn't my Grandma beautiful!?!

One Long Day

On Wednesday Crew was circumcised. As all of you probably already know, this usually happens to little boys within the first week of their birth. But for our little guy we had to wait until he was at least 6 months old. This is because of his Hemophilia. The doctors don't recommend giving him factor when he is so small because they worry his body will create an inhibitor to the medication and therefor not work later on in his life. So we waited at their advice, it was not a fun day, but it is probably for the better.

Crew was such a champ! Seriously, I don't know how we got so lucky! He wasn't allowed to have anything to eat when he woke up that morning so I thought we were going to have a monster on our hands, but he acted perfectly fine. It was like he forgot that he might be hungry. Thank heavens. Really, the only time he even fussed was when they had to put the IV in and he really let the nurses have it for messing with him but as soon as they were done, so was he.

Crew was in surgery for about 1 1/2 hours and then in recovery for about 1/2 hour before we could see him. I was getting very anxious at the end to see him. I couldn't understand what was taking so long. But is it surgery I guess. At that point he wasn't very happy. He was in quite a bit of pain and we were waiting for the medication to kick in. Once it did, he fell right asleep. For the rest of the day he was pretty clingy and just wanted to be held and loved. I had no problem with that. And once he finally fell asleep at about midnight, he slept til 8 am and woke up a new man. Like nothing had happened! He really is a champ! We are so happy he is doing so well. Here is the stud man still all hooked up. Notice the green bandage on his right arm... That is his PIC line. It is a stronger version of an IV. It has to stay in his arm for a week so that we can give him his factor (clotting medicine) for about 6 or so days. Steve has really stepped up on this one. (and the last one). We have to give him 4 shots before bed every night. Crew doesn't seem to notice what we are even doing. Unless he wants his hand for something. But really he is the cutest little boy and I hate seeing him poked and strapped, but am so glad he is so great about it. We are so lucky he has such a great little temperament! We love you Crew!

#1 - I am a nail biter. (In case you didn't already know). When I say I bite my nails, I don't mean I nibble here or there, maybe pull a hang nail or two, you know... get rid of the stragglers. I mean NAIL DEVOURER. I can't help myself. When I am nervous, anxious, bored, or any other thing really, I bite my nails even when there is nothing left to bite. I can always find something. It's bad, I know, I am constantly trying to stop.

#2 - I live for chips and salsa. I am eating them as I write this as a matter of fact. I think they are the best treat ever created and I bow down to the man, or woman, who created salsa. It is the best condiment in my opinion.

#3 - I love starting new projects. The problem usually comes when I need to complete them. I get bored and give up. This can be a very bad thing, ask my husband, but I am getting better. For example, I decided a few weeks ago to paint the cabinets in my kitchen. I took 6 of the doors off and got to work sanding and painting. They sat in the shed for the last few weeks until Steve ignited my excitement again and those are done and 4 more are off and in the shed. Good luck to Steve getting me going again! (just kidding Steve, I promise I will finish them!)

#4 - I love to read. I, personally, find this to be a great attribute. But Steve may say otherwise. I love getting wrapped up in a book and I can't put it down. When I think about it all day and dream about it at night. I LOVE THAT!

#5 - I love thank you notes, or any notes for that matter. I think there is something great about sending or receiving thank you notes. It is a treasure and someone always walks away feeling good.

#6 - I hate being late. It drives me crazy! I go to great lengths to be on time. When I was single this wasn't a huge deal. I had very little problems being on time, but with little ones I have found it to be almost impossible. It seems no matter how hard I try something always holds me up. It probably shouldn't be a big deal, but I truly hate it.

Erin, Kat, Beth, Mindy, Rachel, & Hessica - - - YOU'RE IT!

Great Weekend!

This weekend I convinced Steve that I should use some of our frequent flyer miles to go visit, my before mentioned great friend, Erin in Arizona... I must have great persuasion skills because he agreed! I left on Friday morning and got back on Sunday night. I spent three days relaxing, shopping, eating, swimming, watching movies, and best of all... TALKING! It was a blast! Here we are after a day in the sun... (You can see that Erin gets to do this a bit more than I do, and I am jealous)I convinced Erin that we should decorate her place for Halloween... to my surprise she agreed! I know that it isn't even October yet, but in my opinion Halloween just doesn't get the acknowledgement it deserves and should be celebrated much longer than one month. Erin had the CUTEST decorations to fit in her super cute house so I thought I would take some pictures and spread the spooky fever! Yeah for Halloween! And yeah for Erin for entertaining me for three days! There's nothing like girl time and I am so glad I got some! Love ya Rin!

Crew's First Bleed

It happened. Crew officially had his first bleed (that is what we call his bruises that require a shot). On Tuesday Crew had his 6 month doctors appointment and along with that came his vaccinations. This is normal stuff, it is the third time he has had vaccinations so no big deal, right? Nope. That night was a tough one. I thought he just wasn't feeling good from the shots. Reagan is always a little down after her shots, but this was worse. He would scream out in the night without ever opening his eyes, it was heartbreaking. The next day was more of the same. He woke up screaming and when I picked him up it got even worse. I could not console him. The only time he would settle down was if I layed him on the couch and let him be but that only lasted so long. We went to my mom's house to help her with some things and my mom was trying to help him and noticed that he was getting a large bump on his left thigh and his leg was really hot. Not that he would let us touch it for very long without losing it, but you could see that there was a problem. My mom is the one who really discovered the bleed. I don't know how long it would have taken me to realize it was a bleed because it was not black and blue like I expected. This was a deep muscle bleed.

Needless to say we all jumped in the car and headed to Primary Children's Hospital to get Crew his factor (shot). Steve met us there and we had a great experience considering it all. Steve even gave Crew his shot after they had the IV in his arm! Steve has become a real champ with all of this. I truly don't know how he does it. They left the IV in his hand in case he needed more factor today, luckily he didn't so my mom came over to help me take out the IV this morning. But that wasn't before Steve had to flush it one more time last night. I am telling you, the man is amazing! Crew must take after him because the only time he cried was when they put the IV in, he was a total trooper for everything else. Her are some pics of the club Crew had all day and last night...

Labor Day Weekend

Another fun weekend at the Lake. The kids and I hit Swiss Days with my mom on Friday, on Saturday Steve got to go to the BYU game with my dad and brother, his sister and a few other family members. We went to church on Sunday then packed up the car and went to the Lake for the night. It was a great time... It POURED all night on Sunday and I was in heaven. I just LOVE the rain! So here are even more pictures of the Lake. We sure love it there! The Crewser.
